Mike Smith

Board Vice-President

Mike grew up in Iowa but after a family vacation to Colorado in his high school years, he realized the mountains had a call he couldn’t ignore.  He attended college in the state, spent a 33-year career in the US Air Force flying transport aircraft and in leadership positions at various levels and following retirement, he and his wife Joni relocated to Beulah in 2010.  To remain useful and provide a needed service, they both trained and qualified as volunteer EMTs on Beulah Fire/EMS.  Mike served 7 years on the Department and could not have asked for a more talented and dedicated group to work shoulder to shoulder with.  He now likes working on their acreage, cooking, photography and, with Joni, visiting their two adult children and their spouses in Arvada and outside Madison, WI.

Chandra Lehrer

Board Secretary

Chandra was born and raised in Englewood, Colorado with her parents and 2 older sisters. She graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 2005 and moved away to Gunnison to attend Western State University of Colorado. She thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful area of Gunnison and realized that her life needed to have small town and nature as a main focus. Chandra transferred to Metropolitan State University of Denver and graduated in 2012 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, as well as an Associate's in Psychology. She moved to Beulah, Colorado with her husband Benjamin Lehrer of 6 years. Benjamin was born and raised in Beulah, as well as his family and therefore she feels she was stolen away from Denver, in a good way. Chandra enjoys Beulah very much and absolutely loves the community and the opportunity to be a part of it. She currently works at Colorado Mental Health Institute of Pueblo as a Correctional Officer and is on her 8th year currently. She enjoys what she does, who she works with, and the impact she hopes to make in the mental health community.  Her family and friends mean the utmost to her, as well as her church family and being a part of the Worship Team, as another side passion of hers is singing. Chandra also enjoys reading (a lot!), her dogs, fishing, camping, and spending time with those she cares about.
